Viewing GP Records via GP Connect: Access Record

Note - A patient's GP record is only viewable if their personal details have been verified in the last 24 hours through the Personal Demographics Service (PDS). See Verifying Patient Details for details.

GP Connect: Access Record enables you to view a patient's GP record from the Patient Details section of a service.

Important - A message displays below the VIEW GP RECORD option advising 'By accessing this resource, you confirm that you are a registered healthcare professional and this information is required to support the delivery of clinical care'.

To view a patient's GP record:

  1. Select VIEW GP RECORD to display the Patient GP Record screen.

A patient's personal information displays at the top of the Patient GP Record screen. On the left of the screen, a Side Navigation Bar displays the available sections and subsections of patient's record, while a more detailed view of the selected section displays on the right.

From the Side Navigation Bar select the section to display the corresponding screen:

Note - The records of deceased patients and patients without a linked registered GP are not accessible.
Training Tip - Select Close to close the Patient GP Record screen and return to the consultation.
Note - To print this topic select Print in the top right corner and follow the on-screen prompts.
